Hi Shannon,

I am Stockman and Finviz has become my main site for day trading. It took me several weeks to learn all the features and almost every day, I think of new variations to find stocks that have the best price appreciation. My returns on my money have increased tremendously and I am willing to share my best ideas. I would also like to hear other success stories on using this site to make money so that I can add to my returns as well as increase yours.

My first suggestion after you have registered on the main page, is to go to "screener", go to industry and pull down "Agricultural Chemicals" which includes fertilizers, go to "save as portfolio" and reply yes to the $100,000 portfolio, name the portfolio on the top right and save on the bottom left. After saving, you will see the portfolio, Go to "open in screener", go to performance and sort by month by hitting the month tab until they are all green. You should see seven stocks that are up an average of 15% for the month as I write this. This site has allowed me to invest in only double digit return stocks like these.

I don't work for Finvin and I only can speak highly of this site because of the money I am making. I am not here to brag, but to give you investment tips and the only thing I want is similar ideas from you. My motto is "more money, faster". I will give you many more if there is interest and I get the feedback on other stocks or categories to buy. I wish all of you, more money faster.

Hi Shannon,

Good idea for a thread!

I live in So Cal and develop web apps ( http://islanderwebinnovations.com) ; so far this is the best free online screener I have found; blows away the Yahoo and other screeners.

My investment methodology is part Buffett (value), part Soros (opportunistic), part Swensen (sector weighted); if you are interested in that style of investing you can find the books I recommend here: http://www.islandersoftware.com/weblog/category/investments/

Im Josh. And I traded based on technicals and fundamentals. When entering a fundamental stock I am now investing only when technicals look good. In addition I am formulating a "bullet proof" investing strategy, which I should have completed by December. I work on Excel files and do some IT work. nice to meet you guys

I'm an old retired fart. I day/week traded in 1991 for 6 months, and ended-up just even... too hard. Changed to TA-picking with 6mo-1yr timeframe. That lasted me until the subprime crisis found me over-concentrated (at one point I was receiving $32K/qtr in dividends)& I lost a bunch in the crash. I'm now in Mutual Funds with an occasional stock pick... and working part-time as a Medical Courier.

Take a look at EXC - I have 5% in my portfolio. I hope to become familiar enough with Finviz to spot a little patch of interesting green the next time I have a spot in my portfolio.

Hey gang, Glad to meet you all, nice to see I am not the only one who lives the financial markets. I bought my first mutual fund when I was 18 years old. Pre that I played rages to riches and wall-street-kid. I have traded and followed the forex, and us equities markets for 6 years. I have been an active broker from just a few shorts months before 9-11, yeah the 9-11 new 23yr old broker and what do you know I am still here. I am currently studying for my CFA, some day I will either start my own Mutual-Fund or manage one for a fund company. I feel the biggest asset is time. A good little supply and demand tells us that, High demand, fixed supply, that eventually ends 100% of the time. So unless a position is making me money weekly I dont keep it. I have done more errors that many of you will do in your trading careers, ask me ill let you know to the best of my ability.

Thanks all for great effort and web site. Excellent sharing of data. I was using ADVFN for the similar data, FINVIZ has almost all. More user freindly and faster, TA filters and charts are great. This site is simply the best for any user. I am not full time trader, I like to, once I make more moeny consistently. Looking for tips for what to buy or short - today for next day, next week, month. I need to learn futures market. Any idea suggestions tips are welcome. I have a blog for the same reason. Rakesh.
