The company operates in three segments: Functional Amines, Specialty Amines, and Crop Protection. The Functional Amines segment provides amines, including methylamines and higher alkylamines that are used as intermediates for the production of specialty chemicals and active ingredients; solvents for industrial and professional uses, including manufacturers of textile fibers, artificial leather, and electronics; and salts. The Specialty Amines segment offers amine derivatives and other chemical intermediates to produce specialty chemicals and active ingredients for the water treatment, personal and home care, oil and gas, and animal nutrition markets, as well as for industrial and other applications; and specialty additives for the pharmaceutical, industrial coatings, and metal working fluid markets. The Crop Protection segment provides fungicide end-products for use as fungicides or seed treatment agents; soil fumigation products, such as metam sodium and metam potassium; formulations products consisting of water dispersible granules; plant growth regulators comprising chlormequat chloride formulations, which regulate plant hormones to strengthen root systems and stems in cereals; and biocides for various industrial uses, as well as rubber chemicals. The company was formerly known as Taminco Acquisition Corporation and changed its name to Taminco Corporation in April 2013.
