New Stock Market Maps for Market Cap, 52-Week Highs, Lows, Themes, and Insider Trading

New Stock Market Maps for Market Cap, 52-Week Highs, Lows, Themes, and Insider Trading

Today, we’re excited to announce a new era for stock market Maps and Screener on Finviz with more ways to visualize market cap, 52-week highs and lows, insider trading activity, and industry-specific themes all on the same product used by millions of traders & investors around the world.

When we launched our first stock Heatmap in 2007 as one of the first to do it (watch our video here), we had no idea that our vision would grow into what it is today. Our newest update pushes that vision forward with richer data, more visuals, and enhanced ways to see markets.

Below is a full breakdown of what’s new:

Maps

52-Week High and Low Maps

Drawdown from 52-Week High Map
Identify stocks pulling back from recent highs, how far they’ve dropped, and how they compare to the rest of the market. Use it to spot the biggest dips or the names holding up best during market downturns or panics.

Drawdown from 52-Week High Map
Identify stocks pulling back from recent highs, how far they’ve dropped, and how they compare to the rest of the market. Use it to spot the biggest dips or the names holding up best during market downturns or panics.

Gain from 52-Week Low Map
Identify stocks trading up from their most recent low, how far they’ve rebounded, and how their gains compare to the rest of the market. Use it to spot aggressive bounces or the names still stuck near their lows.

The map shows all S&P 500 stocks and their drawdown from their most recent 52-week high. As the market sells off, this map quickly highlights which stocks are getting hit the hardest and which are holding near their highs.

Insider Transactions Map

Our new Insider Buying & Selling Map is another first of its kind map that we’re launching, and entirely free for all.

The map instantly shows where insiders are buying or selling using color. Blue indicates insider buying, red indicates insider selling. The deeper the color, the larger the activity. All data is measured over the last six months.

This view helps you spot insider activity across the market at a glance, highlighting where executives are buying or selling at scale. We’ve shared an example below. Notice how much red there is – only Google, Tesla, and a few others shows signs of buying activity:

Market Cap Map

Our new Market Capitalization Heatmap does exactly what it sounds like: it shows every stock in the market, organized entirely by size of market cap: mega, large, mid, small, micro, and nano.

This view makes it effortless to see how stocks behave within their market cap category and quickly compare peers. In addition, it can quickly show you which market cap factor is breaking out, slowing down or outperforming. Check it out:

Themes Map

Our new Market Themes Heatmap shows stocks by structural themes rather than sectors, which is useful for tracking long-term narratives, capital trends, and emerging ideas. As new industries emerge, and breakthrough technologies change the competitive landscape, our themes map is the most clear way to see what’s moving, outperforming, and gaining market share.

For example, in the chart below you can see the Artificial Intelligence (AI) theme, and all the sub categories that go into that including Databases, DevOps, Compute, Model, and more:

Screener

New Theme & Sub-Theme Screener

Our Themes feature now connects directly into the screener. With that, users also get access to our sub-theme feature. For screening for stocks, this offers unprecedented capabilities to find stocks within emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, aerospace, quantum computing, space tech, electric vehicles, and more. Check out these two examples:

As you can see, this new theme tool is the quickest, and most efficient way, to find stocks with themes that are truly moving markets. Click the Theme and Sub-theme fields in the screener to get started:

Groups

Performance Maps

Our Groups feature gives anyone the capability to quickly measure a sector, industry or country over specific time periods and different visualizations.

Now, to make our Groups feature even more powerful, we’ve added dedicated Heatmap views that instantly show aggregate performance by category. These visuals help you track rotation across the market rather than focusing on single stocks. Here are the four primary ones:

These are ideal for answering one question quickly: Where is money flowing right now? What groups are dominating and which are falling behind?

We hope you enjoy these new updates and put them to good work. 2026 is the year we deliver new features across our entire product suite. This is just the start.
