As the calendar flips to September and markets head into the historically bearish Labor Day break, a new round of earnings and economic reports are due. Though markets will be closed on Monday, investors will be eyeing earnings from American Eagle (AEO), Asana (ASAN), C3.ai (AI), Campbell Soup (CPB), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Lululemon Athletica (LULU), Macy's (M), NIO (NIO), Signet Jewelers (SIG), and Zscaler (ZS) throughout the week.

Markets will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 to observe Labor Day.
Trading resumes on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with S&P final U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) and Institute for Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing readings for August on tap, in addition to construction spending data for July.
Wednesday, Sept. 3 brings job openings, factory orders, the Fed's Beige Book, and auto sales data. Plus, St. Louis Federal Reserve President Alberto Musalem will speak.
The ADP employment report is due out Thursday, Sept. 4, alongside the usual weekly jobless claims, a U.S. trade deficit update, and productivity data. Wall Street will also sift through the S&P final U.S. services PMI and ISM services readings, with New York Fed President John Williams and Chicago Fed President President Austan Goolsbee ser to deliver remarks.
The week wraps up on Friday, Sept. 5 with the employment report for August, an unemployment rate reading, and hourly wages data.
