By Joel Pesantez | September 03, 2025, 3:01 PM

With Labor Day in the rearview mirror and autumn on the horizon, earnings season is easing down, though some reports from heavy hitters and new economic data will keep things interesting. Specifically, Adobe (ADBE), Chewy (CWHY), GameStop (GME), and Kroger (KR) are among the handful of companies slated to announce quarterly  results next week.

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.

Monday, Sept. 8 brings July's consumer credit data.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the spotlight falls on August's National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) optimism index.

The calendar heats up on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with a packed slate: August's core and overall producer price index (PPI), in addition to wholesale inventories for July.

Thursday, Sept. 11 features the core and overall consumer price index (CPI), along with weekly jobless claims and a monthly U.S. federal budget update.

The week wraps up with consumer sentiment data on Friday, Sept. 12.
