As Joby Aviation (NYSE: JOBY) works to complete the certification of its vertical take-off and landing aircraft, the company has bought a helicopter network called Blade, and Uber (NYSE: UBER) took notice. A new partnership between the companies could build demand before Joby's main aircraft ever gets off the ground.
