Dow, S&P 500 Log Record Closes as Big Tech Tanks

The Dow, S&P 500, and small-cap Russell 2000 Index (RUT) all notched record closes today, as Oracle's (ORCL) disappointing revenue pushed investors out of AI and into cyclical stocks. Visa (V) stock's surge helped the DJIA to a 646-point win, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq landed in the red for its first daily loss in three. As we head into Friday, all four indexes are headed for weekly gains.

Crude Turns Lower with Peace Talks in Focus

Investors moved past yesterday's oil rig seize by the U.S., turning focus back to Ukraine peace talks. January-dated West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 86 cents, or 1.5%, to close at $57.60 per barrel.

Gold futures inched lower as silver continued its run into more record highs. February-dated gold closed up 0.5% at $4,244.40 per ounce.
