The Week Ahead: Fresh Inflation Data, Fed Minutes

By Emma Duncan | April 02, 2026, 1:00 PM

The first full week of April will focus on a number of highly anticipated inflation readings, including February's personal consumption index (PCE) and consumer price index (CPI). Revised gross domestic product (GDP) numbers for Q4 will also drop, as well as minutes from the latest Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.

Earnings will pick up slightly, with results from Applied Digital (APLD), BlackBerry (BB), Constellation Brands (STZ), Delta Air Lines (DAL), and Levi Strauss (LEVI) on deck.

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.

Nothing of note is scheduled for Monday, April 6.

Tuesday, April 7 will kick off the week with durable-goods orders, consumer credit data, and a speech from Chicago Federal Reserve President Austan Goolsbee.

For Wednesday, April 8, the FOMC March meeting minutes are due out.

A busy day on Wall Street, Thursday, April 9 will bring personal income and spending for February and GDP data from the fourth quarter. Core, monthly, and year-over-year PCE index readings, weekly jobs data, and wholesale inventories will also enter the scene.

CPI data from March is slated for Friday April 10, as well as factory orders for February and preliminary consumer sentiment data for April.
