There is no shortage of economic data to close out April, with most of the anticipation centered around the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee's (FOMC) meeting, with a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell to follow. Gross domestic product (GDP) data, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, as well as wholesale inventories are also due out.
Earnings season is underway, with countless blue chip and Big Tech reports scheduled. Alphabet (GOOGL), Amazon.com (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Caterpillar (CAT), Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Coca-Cola (KO), eBay (EBAY), Merck (MRK), Meta Platforms (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Reddit (RDDT), Robinhood Markets (HOOD), Seagate Technology (STX), Spotify Technologies (SPOT), and Visa (V) are on the schedule.

Tuesday, April 28 will host the S&P Case-Shiller home price index and consumer confidence data for April.
Wednesday, April 29 will be flooded with action, most notably the 2 p.m. E.T. FOMC interest rate decision and a speech from Fed Chair Powell. Housing starts, durable-goods orders, building permits, and retail and wholesale inventories will also be presented.
Another busy session, Thursday, April 30, features weekly jobs data, first-quarter GDP, personal income and spending readings, the PCE and core PCE index, as well as the Chicago Business Barometer.
