Dr. Diwan is a brilliant inventor and a serial entrepreneur. For example, he invented novel polymeric micelle-based nanomedicine technologies in 1991, before “nanomedicine” was even understood by others. Prior to co-founding NanoViricides, Inc., he has founded TheraCour Pharma, Inc., a privately held company focused in nanomedicines and cell-targeted drug delivery, and AllExcel, Inc., a company with diverse portfolios including nanomedicines, small chemicals, device technologies, and informatics. He started his career with several NIH SBIR (small business innovation research) grant awards.
Anil started as a Chemical Engineer with a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT-B), India and a Ph.D. from Rice University, TX, USA.
