Upbeat earnings from Amazon.com (AMZN) is adding to optimism and offset a post-earnings selloff from Apple (APPL). Futures tied to the Nasdaq-100 (NDX) are up triple digits, while futures on the S&P 500 Index (SPX) sports modest gains as well. Now, investors turn their attention to the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment survey, due out at 10 a.m. ET.

- The Cboe Option Exchange saw roughly 2.2 million call contracts and 1.3 million put contracts traded on Wednesday. The single-session equity put/call ratio remained at 0.61, while the 21-day moving average remained at 0.58.
- Shares of Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) are off 4% ahead of the open, even after the biotech name posted better-than-expected second-quarter results of $1.97 per share on $145 million in revenue. Lower research and development spending is a headwind to watch today. Year-to-date, the equity is up 95%.
- Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) stock is down 5% before the market open, after the crypto wallet reported a steeper-than-expected quarterly loss. Revenue also fell short of estimates COIN is already off 56.7% year-over-year heading into today.
- Social media platform Reddit (NYSE:RDDT) has shed 12% premarket, as traders raised concerns about the company’s search-referral traffic from Google, overshadowing a top- and bottom-line Q2 beat. Despite the upbeat report, seven brokerages have issued price-target cuts. Reddit stock is down 22% in 2026.

Asian markets finished the week on a high note as the tech rally went global. South Korea’s Kospi soared 17.9% -- its best single-session gain on record -- with SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics finally up off the mat. Japan’s Nikkei tacked on 4%, with SoftBank and Tokyo Electron doing the heavy lifting after the Bank of Japan kept interest rates steady. China’s Shanghai Composite gained 0.7%, even after factory activity fell in July to contraction territory. Rounding out the region, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng hit a record high but only closed up 0.1%.
In Europe, bourses are in the black midday. London’s FTSE 100 is up 0.2% at last look, hitting an intraday record high thanks to outsized moves from defense stocks. The German DAX and French CAC 40 are 0.3% and 0.8% higher at last look, respectively.
