Trends Making Noise on Wall Street Today

By Emma Duncan | August 13, 2026, 1:27 PM

As the afternoon buzz subsides and we swing into late-afternoon trading, let's take a quick look at a few of the biggest trends circling Wall Street right now:

Defense Stock Slides Despite Outlook Hike

  • Despite hiking its 2026 revenue outlook, Ondas Inc (NASDAQ:ONDS) is sliding this afternoon, after the defense tech name shared an adjusted EBITDA loss of $50.6 million.
  • ONDS is off 8.4% to trade at $8.95 in response, now off more than 8% for 2026.

AI Boom Triggers Dell Technologies Stock Surge

  • It's no question as to whether or not AI has been trending this week, but one of the overlooked outperformers today looks to be Dell Technologies Inc (NYSE:DELL), the shares earlier tapping a record high of $514. Also feeding off a halo lift from strong quarterly growth out of Lenovo, DELL has nearly quadrupled in value this calendar year.
  • Today's surge briefly took the stock above the round $500 level for the first time, marking a potentially symbolic point for the Super Micro Computer (SMCI) peer

Kroger Quietly Closes Dozens of Locations

  • Kroger Co (NYSE:KR) stock is up 1.3% to trade at $56.81 today, unphased by the quiet closure of roughly 39 of its Midwest grocery stores. The company in 2025 said it will shut locations not showing "sustainable results," but have remained soft spoken on when and where the closures would take place.
  • KR has been on a downward trajectory since tapping its early March record high of $76.58, with the descending 50-day moving average capping multiple breakout attempts.
