Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH) has opened U.S. pre-orders for the IQ Battery C80, marking the company’s entry into the commercial battery storage market, according to a press release issued on August 18, 2026.

The new all-in-one, AC-coupled system combines battery packs and microinverters within a single enclosure. It is designed to provide 80 kWh of usable energy capacity and up to 40 kVA of continuous power, while supporting installations ranging from 80 kWh to 2 MWh.

Enphase is targeting commercial, industrial and multifamily properties with the new storage platform.

IQ Battery C80 Offers Two Three-Phase Configurations

The IQ Battery C80 will be offered in two three-phase versions. A 120Y/208 V configuration will provide 33 kVA of continuous power, while a 277Y/480 V model will deliver 40 kVA.

Both versions use lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry and are designed to achieve AC round-trip efficiency of more than 90%.

The system can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -22°F to 131°F, allowing it to serve projects across a wide range of operating environments.

Enphase Targets Commercial Energy Management Applications

Enphase has designed the IQ Battery C80 to support several commercial energy-management applications, including demand charge management, time-of-use energy shifting and increased consumption of electricity generated by on-site solar installations.

The platform is also expected to support grid services and participation in virtual power plants.

Compatibility with third-party commercial three-phase solar inverters will allow the system to be incorporated into both new installations and retrofit projects, broadening its potential addressable market.

U.S. Manufacturing Could Support Tax Credit Eligibility

Enphase expects the IQ Battery C80 to be manufactured at facilities in the United States and to comply with Foreign Entity of Concern, or FEOC, requirements.

According to the company, that could enable certain qualifying projects to benefit from domestic content bonus tax credits, depending on individual project requirements and applicable legislation.

Domestic manufacturing could therefore become an additional selling point for customers evaluating the economics of commercial battery installations in the U.S.

Safety Features and 15-Year Warranty Included

The IQ Battery C80 will carry a 15-year limited warranty and has been certified to UL 9540A.

Enphase has incorporated several safety features into the system, including smoke and gas detection at the battery-module level, active pressure release and support for integration with fire alarm control panels.

The combination of integrated power electronics, scalable storage capacity and commercial energy-management capabilities expands Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH) beyond its established residential energy technology offering and into larger-scale battery applications.

Shipments of the IQ Battery C80 are expected to begin during the first half of 2027.
