QumulusAI (NASDAQ:QMLS) has signed a seven-year colocation agreement covering up to 3.75 MW of data centre capacity in metropolitan Atlanta, expanding the infrastructure available to support its growing portfolio of artificial intelligence computing contracts.
The agreement also gives QumulusAI a right of first offer on up to an additional 7 MW of adjoining capacity at the same location, potentially providing the company with considerable room to expand as customer demand increases.
Atlanta capacity could support more than 2,000 Nvidia GPUs
The contracted 3.75 MW of capacity is expected to accommodate as many as 2,048 Nvidia Blackwell B300-class GPUs.
Delivery remains dependent on the data centre provider completing the transition of the premises from an existing occupant. QumulusAI expects the capacity to become available for service during the fourth quarter of 2026.
“Contracted demand is only as good as the power you have to serve it,” said Michael Maniscalco, CEO of QumulusAI. “Acquiring multiyear capacity in our own backyard will give us room to land deployments we are signing now, and a first look at the room to grow next door.”
The Atlanta location also gives QumulusAI additional infrastructure close to its corporate headquarters, which the company established at Georgia Tech’s Tech Square in June.
QumulusAI contracts surpass $246 million
The capacity agreement follows a series of commercial wins announced by QumulusAI since early June, with those contracts carrying a combined value of more than $246 million.
Among them is a three-year AI inference agreement worth more than $71 million, announced on July 28, as well as a GPU-as-a-Service contract with DRW disclosed on August 11.
The rapid expansion of the company’s contract portfolio is increasing its need for readily available power and data centre infrastructure capable of accommodating high-density AI computing equipment.
Blackwell GPU purchases support expanding AI demand
QumulusAI has also been building the hardware capacity required to service its growing customer commitments.
In July, the company purchased 1,632 Nvidia Blackwell B300 GPUs to meet existing demand. The newly contracted Atlanta data centre capacity could eventually support up to 2,048 B300-class GPUs, providing additional room for deployments.
The option to secure as much as another 7 MW of contiguous capacity could further increase QumulusAI’s ability to expand at the site without having to establish a separate facility.
The seven-year agreement therefore strengthens the infrastructure underpinning the company’s recent customer wins while giving QumulusAI a potential pathway to scale its Atlanta operations further as demand for AI computing capacity grows.
