Halliburton (NYSE:HAL) has secured an integrated services contract from bp covering the first appraisal campaign at the Bumerangue field in deepwater offshore Brazil.
The agreement will see Halliburton provide drilling services and reservoir evaluation as bp advances its appraisal programme for the Bumerangue discovery.
Halliburton to Provide Integrated Drilling and Reservoir Services
Under the contract, Halliburton will combine several services within a single execution model designed to support the appraisal campaign and improve operational efficiency.
The programme will include the deployment of Halliburton’s LOGIX automation and remote operations technology, alongside advanced drilling tools and digital capabilities.
The company will also incorporate data and artificial intelligence technologies into the project, providing real-time operational insights as drilling and reservoir evaluation activities progress.
“This award reflects Halliburton’s ability to execute complex deepwater projects through a combination of digital solutions, integrated service delivery, and local expertise,” said Francisco Tarazona, senior vice president for Latin America at Halliburton.
Bumerangue Contract Strengthens Halliburton’s Deepwater Position
The award gives Halliburton a role in bp’s first appraisal campaign at Bumerangue as the energy major works to gather further information about the deepwater discovery and evaluate the reservoir.
By combining drilling, reservoir evaluation, automation, remote operations and AI-supported data analysis, Halliburton aims to provide bp with an integrated approach throughout the appraisal process.
The contract also reinforces Halliburton’s position in Brazil’s offshore energy industry, where technically demanding deepwater developments require increasingly sophisticated drilling and digital technologies.
