Lucid Group (NASDAQ:LCID) is recalling 27,185 Air luxury electric sedans in the United States because of a potential fire hazard, according to an announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Friday.
Exterior lighting circuit could overheat
The recall covers vehicles in which an exterior lighting circuit could overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Due to the potential hazard, NHTSA advised affected owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the issue has been addressed.
Lucid issues over-the-air software update
Lucid has released an over-the-air software update designed to resolve the problem, according to NHTSA.
The update allows the electric vehicle manufacturer to address the issue remotely without requiring the software fix to be installed at a dealership.
