AeroVironment, Red Cat and Ondas turned drone stocks into one of the market's favorite themes. Duke Robotics just arrived on Nasdaq, and it is already executing on two distinct multi-billion-dollar opportunities.
Drones have become one of the defining investment stories of the decade, and the market has rewarded the companies proving it. AeroVironment has climbed toward the $150 range as defense budgets shift harder toward unmanned systems. Red Cat Holdings (NASDAQ: RCAT) and Ondas Holdings (NASDAQ: ONDS) have both turned into names every drone investor now recognizes, riding the same wave of military modernization and battlefield technology that shows no sign of slowing down. Governments are pouring record sums into autonomous systems, and Wall Street has been paying close attention to whoever is building the hardware behind that shift.
Duke Robotics Corp (NASDAQ: DUKR) just walked onto that same stage. The company raised $9.2 million from investors and uplisted from OTC to the Nasdaq Capital Market in May, and it is already tackling two markets big enough to define a company many times its size. On the defense side, Duke's proprietary stabilization technology sits inside the Bird of Prey, a fully stabilized remote weapon system marketed globally by Elbit Systems Land Ltd., a subsidiary of Elbit Systems (NASDAQ: ESLT), one of the largest defense contractors on earth. This is not a system still waiting to prove itself. Bird of Prey is confirmed in Israel Defense Forces operational use and has already been featured on Israeli television demonstrating that use, meaning it has cleared the hardest bar in defense technology by working in the field, not just on a spec sheet. Duke is entitled to royalties every time Elbit delivers a unit, and a new order came in this past June with deliveries expected before year-end. Now that the system is combat-validated and generating repeat business, the natural next catalyst is whether Elbit, sitting on its own record order backlog, comes back with larger and more frequent orders.
To push that further, Duke just brought on Yiftach Kleinman, the former CEO of SpearUAV and a veteran of more than a decade at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems where he ran M&A and international business development, stepping in as incoming CEO. A leadership hire with that kind of dealmaking pedigree, arriving right as the flagship platform proves itself in the field, is exactly the profile investors watch for signs of additional defense agreements beyond Elbit.
On the civilian side, Duke is going after a market just as significant: the global push to modernize aging power grids. Its IC Drone already services high-voltage transmission lines for the Israel Electric Corporation, cleaning live wires without ever shutting down the grid, and that contract already crossed $1 million in expected 2026 revenue after roughly doubling in size earlier this year. Duke calls the current season its largest commercial deployment yet. The next leg of that story may be even bigger: Duke has already secured EU-standard regulatory clearance to operate in Greece, a country in the middle of a multibillion-euro grid modernization program, and it is building a larger commercial airframe specifically designed to carry the same technology into bigger national grids. Converting that Greek clearance into an actual utility contract would put Duke's insulator-cleaning model to work on a grid many times the size of Israel's, and would be the clearest sign yet that the business travels. Layered on top of that, Duke launched AEROTRACE earlier this year, an AI-powered aerial monitoring platform that opens the door to a recurring, software-style revenue stream running alongside its existing service business.
That is what makes the timing so compelling. AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV), Red Cat and Ondas were all small, unfollowed names before the market decided they mattered. Duke Robotics is standing at that same starting line right now, freshly listed, already positioned to collect royalty revenue from one of the world's most respected defense companies with a combat-proven platform and a dealmaker CEO stepping in, and already scaling a seven-figure utility contract, and with Greece as the next potential market on the horizon. Nobody can say which small-cap drone name the market falls in love with next, but the ingredients that turned other companies in this space into the names every investor recognizes, real revenue, proven technology, and a growing list of catalysts, are already sitting inside Duke Robotics today. The only thing that hasn't happened yet is the market noticing.
