Dow, Nasdaq Down Triple Digits as Brent Crude Tops July Peak

The major indexes are continuing lower this afternoon, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) off 430 points while the Nasdaq Composite Index (IXIC) also sports a triple-digit loss. The S&P 500 Index (SPX) is lower as well, with all eyes on a continued rise in Brent crude prices, the commodity earlier pushing above $100 per barrel -- its highest price since July. Retaliatory U.S.-Iran conflict in the Persian Gulf is triggering today's surge. Investors are also watching Apple (AAPL), as its annual product event remains underway.

Teladoc Health Inc (NYSE:TDOC) stock is 2.6% lower to trade at $6.10 this afternoon. Though the catalyst today's action remains unclear, TDOC is trading at four-month lows, succumbing to overhead pressure at the 20-day moving average. Call options traders are circling today, with 9,000 calls across the tape so far, 10 times the average intraday pace. Seeing the most action are the January 15, 2026 15-strike call and the January 21, 2028 15-strike call.

One of the best stocks on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today is JJill Inc (NYSE:JILL), trading up 8.1% at $21.54, after the retailer posted a second-quarter earnings and revenue beat. JILL is up 57% year-to-date and earlier tapped an annual high of $23.47. The ascending 30-day moving average has also moved in as support.

On the opposite end of the NYSE, data center giant Vertiv Holdings Co (NYSE:VRT) is down 5.7% at $274, sliding after last night revealing plans to purchase peer Utility Innovation for roughly $6.2 billion. VRT has added 69% in 2026, recently pivoting higher after pulling back to $220.
