Biotech stocks are dominating today’s unusual options volume list, with United Therapeutics Corporation (NASDAQ: UTHR), Neumora Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: NMRA), and Edgewise Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: EWTX) all attracting outsized attention in the options pits.
United Therapeutics options volume is running at 31.7 times the usual intraday amount, with 70,000 contracts exchanged so far. Calls and puts are evenly split at 35,000 contracts apiece. UTHR is down 0.2% at $496.38, after CEO Martine Rothblatt’s family trust exercised 9,500 options and sold the matching shares under a Rule 10b5-1 plan last session.
Neumora Therapeutics has seen 9,768 options cross the tape, or 12.8 times the usual intraday volume. Puts account for nearly all of that activity, with 9,766 exchanged compared to just two calls. NMRA is down 3.9% at $0.72, trading at 52-week lows and headed for its 11th-straight loss.
Edgewise Therapeutics is seeing heavy call volume, with 6,131 exchanged compared to just one put. Overall options volume is running at 8.6 times the usual intraday amount. EWTX is down 2.2% at $45.92, taking a breather after hitting an all-time high in the previous session.
