Einride AB (NASDAQ:ENRD) has announced a collaboration with Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) to develop its autonomous trucking technology using Nvidia’s DRIVE Hyperion platform.
The agreement, announced on 21 September 2026, will see Einride adapt Nvidia’s computing and sensor architecture for heavy-duty trucks as it seeks to expand autonomous operations across its existing freight network.
The collaboration will also incorporate Nvidia’s artificial intelligence development tools and safety technologies into Einride’s autonomous-driving system.
Einride plans to adapt Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion, a reference architecture designed for Level 4 autonomous driving, for use in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Level 4 autonomy enables vehicles to operate without human intervention under specified conditions.
The company will integrate Nvidia’s Halos safety system and use Nvidia Cosmos to process camera data, identify unusual driving situations and generate synthetic scenarios for training its autonomous-driving models.
Einride also intends to use Nvidia’s Blackwell computing architecture through an Nvidia Exemplar Cloud partner to train and refine its technology.
Einride will retain responsibility for the development and operation of its autonomous-driving system, including safety validation and regulatory approvals. Nvidia will provide the underlying computing architecture and AI development tools.
Einride currently operates hundreds of electric trucks across the United States, Europe and the Middle East, including autonomous vehicles deployed in active customer operations.
The company expects its fleet to expand to between 1,500 and 2,000 vehicles by 2028, based on existing customer demand.
Einride estimates that approximately 80% of this demand could be suitable for automation over the medium term.
The Nvidia collaboration is intended to support the development of autonomous capabilities as Einride expands its freight operations.
Henrik Green, chief technology officer at Einride, said:
“We have the customers, the operational experience and the technology. Building the next generation of the Einride Driver on the Nvidia Hyperion platform will enable us to scale autonomous deployment across a freight network that’s already serving customers today.”
Rishi Dhall, Nvidia’s vice president of automotive, said the partnership would allow Einride to “accelerate the development and validation of its autonomous-driving technology and scale deployments across its growing freight network.”
The companies did not disclose financial terms for the collaboration.
Einride’s planned expansion remains dependent on factors including technology development, safety validation, regulatory approvals and the conversion of customer demand into vehicle deployments.
