GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) has signed a services agreement to provide Rotor Life Extension solutions for five 9F gas turbines operating at three power plants in Egypt.
The agreement covers turbines at the Kureimat, Nubaria and Cairo North facilities, which have a combined generating capacity of approximately 1,250 megawatts.
The counterparties are affiliates of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), including Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company, Middle Delta Electricity Production Company and Cairo Electricity Production Company.
Turbine Work Scheduled Between 2028 and 2035
Under the agreement, GE Vernova is expected to extend the operating life of the five turbines by between 13 and 15 years.
The services are scheduled to be carried out between 2028 and 2035.
Eng. Gaber El-Desouki, Chairman and CEO of EEHC, said the agreement was part of the company’s approach to maintaining its generation assets.
“This agreement reflects EEHC’s continued focus on preserving the long-term performance and reliability of important generation assets across our fleet,” El-Desouki said.
Agreement Follows April 2026 Order
The latest agreement follows a separate order announced in April 2026 involving GE Vernova and Middle Delta Electricity Production Company.
That order covered Advanced Gas Path upgrades and multiyear services agreements for equipment at the Banha and Nubaria power plants.
According to GE Vernova, its installed base in Egypt includes more than 60 gas and steam turbines with combined generating capacity of approximately 10 gigawatts.
