By Emma Duncan | September 24, 2026, 12:44 PM

Economic data is showing no signs of slowing, with the start of October bringing the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI), employment report, and more. While the earnings calendar will be mostly quiet, a handful of noteworthy names are still set to report. These include Accenture (ACN), Cal-Maine Foods (CALM), Conagra (CAG), CarMax (KMX), and Nike (NKE).

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.

Monday, September 28 will be a quiet session, with no major economic reports scheduled.

Tuesday, September 29 will bring the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), as well as the S&P Cotality Case-Shiller home price index.

Investors will be busy on Wednesday, September 30, with the ADP national employment report, the third and final estimate of second-quarter gross domestic product (GDP), wholesale and retail inventories, personal income and consumer spending, and the Chicago Business Barometer due out.

Thursday, October 1 will bring weekly jobless claims, construction spending, and the U.S. manufacturing PMI.

Factory orders, the employment and unemployment reports, and average hourly earnings data are scheduled for Friday, October 2.
