Tesla Registrations Rise Across Several European Markets in September

By Fiona Craig | October 01, 2026, 6:18 AM

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) recorded higher new-car registrations across several European markets in September, according to data released by national automotive industry organisations.

Registrations, which provide an indication of vehicle sales, increased 61.9% year on year in France, according to French automotive body PFA. They rose 2.2% in Norway and 38.4% in Sweden, based on figures from OFV and Mobility Sweden respectively.

The September figures follow an increase in Tesla registrations across the wider European market during the first eight months of the year.

Tesla European Registrations Increase 43.3% Through August

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, Tesla registrations across the European Union, the UK and the European Free Trade Association increased 43.3% between January and August compared with the same period a year earlier.

Registrations across the broader battery-electric vehicle market increased 38.8% over the same period.

The latest Tesla figures follow two years of declining sales in Europe. The supplied information cited easier comparisons with the previous year, higher fuel prices, government incentives and increased consumer interest in electric vehicles among factors supporting registrations.

UK and German Registration Data Awaited

Registration figures from the UK and Germany are due later this week.

As Europe’s two largest car markets, the upcoming figures will provide additional data on Tesla’s regional sales performance during September.
