Netlist, Inc. (USOTC:NLST) and Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) have entered into patent licence and settlement agreements covering existing legal proceedings and Netlist’s patent portfolio.

Under the agreements, all pending legal proceedings between the two companies will be settled and mutually released.

Micron will receive a five-year licence to Netlist’s patent portfolio, including patents covering server DIMMs and High Bandwidth Memory technologies.

Micron to Pay $30 Million Per Quarter

Micron will pay Netlist $30 million per quarter beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continuing through the third quarter of 2031.

The payments will total $600 million over the term of the licence.

“The agreement with Micron further validates the value of our AI memory technologies,” said C.K. Hong, Netlist’s Chief Executive Officer. “We remain committed to protecting our IP while continuing to invest in the development of next-generation products.”

The statement represents Netlist management’s assessment of the agreement and its intellectual property portfolio.

Agreement Resolves Pending Legal Proceedings

As part of the settlement, the companies will mutually release all pending legal proceedings between them.

Netlist also filed a Current Report on Form 8-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at the same time as the announcement.

The supplied material does not provide additional financial terms beyond the quarterly payments or further details regarding the individual legal proceedings covered by the settlement.
