IBM Launches SAP Cloud ERP Offering for Midsize Companies

By Fiona Craig | October 07, 2026, 6:27 AM

IBM (NYSE:IBM) has launched IBM Ready for SAP Solutions, a new offering designed to help midsize and growing organisations modernise their enterprise resource planning systems using SAP (NYSE:SAP) cloud technology.

The offering combines IBM’s consulting services with SAP cloud ERP technology and is intended to support ERP modernisation and preparations for the adoption of artificial intelligence.

IBM said the service is initially available in selected countries and industries, with plans for a broader global rollout.

IBM Cites Early Customer Implementations

Volumetric Building Companies, a modular construction company, completed an SAP Cloud ERP implementation with IBM over three months.

According to IBM, the company reported a 50% reduction in operational cycle times across purchasing, manufacturing and inventory processes following the implementation.

“By modernizing our ERP environment with IBM, we now have unified visibility across our supply chain and operations,” said Chris Macies, Chief Operating Officer of Volumetric Building Companies.

Second Nature Brands, a snacks and treats company, also used the offering to integrate its acquired Voortman Bakery business onto a common enterprise platform. Jeff O’Gradney, Vice President of IT at Second Nature Brands, said the implementation positioned the business to operate and scale as a single organisation.

IBM and SAP Target Cloud ERP Modernisation

IBM cited research from its Institute for Business Value showing that 68% of enterprises consider accelerating ERP modernisation important for operational efficiency and competitiveness.

SAP’s Santina Franchi said the collaboration extends the company’s GROW Fast methodology, which SAP says can support cloud ERP deployments within weeks.

The companies did not provide financial details related to the new offering.
