By PR Newswire | October 09, 2026, 4:43 PM

Funds will help provide immediate relief and support longer-term recovery across Gulf Coast communities

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to approaching Hurricane Isaias and the threat it poses to communities along the Gulf Coast, Truist Foundation today announced a $250,000 donation for immediate relief and longer-term recovery efforts. The funding will be distributed among the American Red Cross, Center for Disaster Philanthropy and United Way Worldwide to help impacted communities respond to and recover from the storm.

Current forecasts show Hurricane Isaias approaching the northern Gulf Coast, with impacts potentially including damaging winds, storm surge and heavy rainfall.

"When disaster strikes, communities need support in the immediate aftermath, but they also need partners committed to the recovery that follows," said Namrata Yadav, chief culture and philanthropy officer at Truist. "By working alongside organizations with deep expertise and strong community connections, we can help meet critical needs now while supporting the longer-term work of rebuilding and strengthening communities."

Truist Foundation takes a comprehensive approach to disaster response that spans community preparation, immediate relief and long-term recovery. Working with nonprofit partners, the Foundation helps address needs such as food, shelter, health care and emergency financial assistance, as well as longer-term needs including home repairs and rebuilding.

Truist teammates are also encouraged to volunteer in communities impacted by disasters. For teammates directly affected, the Truist One Team Fund provides short-term financial assistance for significant financial hardship resulting from eligible events, including natural disasters. In 2025, 275 teammate grant requests were fulfilled, totaling $797,000. Funding is provided through a combination of Truist Foundation support and individual teammate contributions.
