3 Tech Stocks Suffering Steep Post-Earnings Slides

By Emma Duncan | October 22, 2026, 10:00 AM

Stocks are selling off this morning, as investors digested a fresh batch of big-name earnings reports. Below we will take a look at three notable names making major noise on Wall Street today.

Another Musk Earnings, But Not So Shiny

  • Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is trading 3.8% lower this morning, after Elon Musk's electric-vehicle (EV) giant posted a third-quarter earnings beat, though revenue slightly missed analyst estimates. This comes on the heels of Musk's SpaceX (SPCX) earnings blowout, which ushered stocks to impressive wins Wednesday afternoon.

  • TSLA has been consolidating on the charts between the $375 and $350 levels since early September, with overhead resistance present at the 120-day moving average. In 2026, TSLA has shed 14%.

AI Concerns Overshadow NOK Earnings

  • Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK) is suffering a steep 7.4% drop, despite the company's strong Q3 report, thanks to increased AI sales. The weak market sentiment is weighing on overall AI-related stocks and the broader tech outlook, triggering concerns regarding free-cash flow and long-term success for companies.

  • Despite its recent lull on the charts, NOK remains up 42% year to date, with its most recent pullback halted by the $9 floor. This past June the shares tapped a nearly 18-year high of $17.45.

IBM Set to Snap Win Streak

  • IBM (NYSE:IBM) is sliding 7.7% lower at last check, pivoting lower from early pre-market gains, despite the chip name's glimmering Q3 beat-and-raise. AI concerns lingered, as well as the company's grim summer report.

  • IBM is set to snap a three-day win streak, thwarted by the $250 ceiling once again, a line of contention for the shares back in mid-September. For 2026, IBM has shed 15%.
