American Water Employees Contribute Nearly 2,400 Volunteer Hours During Companywide AmerICANs in Action! Month of Service

Month of Service. More than 800 American Water employees across its national footprint participated in over 90 community volunteer projects, contributing nearly 2,400 hours of service throughout September.

AmerICANs in Action is an initiative that aims to inspire American Water employees, their family members, retirees, business partners, and suppliers to lead and manage team-based volunteer projects in their local communities during the month of September. The program encourages employees to donate time and expertise to local community groups to make a positive impact.

In 2026, employees demonstrated their commitment to the communities they serve through a wide range of volunteer and giving initiatives. Employees participated in environmental stewardship efforts by cleaning up rivers, shorelines, watersheds and parks, while also supporting tree planting and beautification projects. Teams also supported food banks, pantries, and meal programs, organized school supply drives, volunteered with animal welfare organizations, participated in blood drives and awareness walks, and worked alongside community partners such as United Way and Boys & Girls Clubs.
