Stocks are looking sluggish this afternoon, struggling for direction as investors await the Fed's rate hike decision. Options traders are anything but quiet, however, with three names seeing an uptick in volume.
Fintech Testing Two Key Levels
Toast Inc (NYSE:TOST) is up 0.2% to trade at $31.81, with overhead pressure from the 50-day moving average and a downtrend line from its 2026 peak near $37.50. TOST has shed 10% in 2026.
More than 58,000 contracts have been traded so far today, volume that is 4.6 times the average daily amount. Investors are eyeing the January 18, 2028 50-strike call and 23-strike put, which accounts for most of today's action.
Buyout Rumors Trigger DASH Pullback
DoorDash Inc (NASDAQ:DASH) is 0.6% lower at $170.01, days after news broke the delivery app was in talks to purchase grocery delivery giant Instacart for $17 billion. DASH has shed 35% over the past 12 months.
So far this afternoon, 32,728 contracts have been exchanged, triple the average rate, with a heavy presence of bearish bets. Traders are flocking toward the December 175 and January 15, 2027 180-strike calls.
Carmaker Gaps Higher After Earnings Win
Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA) is up 14.7% at last glance, gapping higher after posting an upbeat Q3 report, besting expectations as the carmaker begins to benefit from its turnaround efforts. The 50-day moving average is capping today's gains, though the shares eye their biggest daily pop since April 2025.
STLA is seeing double the average amount of options being traded today, with roughly 20,000 across the tape so far. Seeing the most attention is the weekly 10/30 4.50-strike call and the January 15, 2027 5-strike call.
