Eli Lilly Partners With Hims & Hers to Expand Access to Obesity Treatments Through Telehealth

By Fiona Craig | November 06, 2026, 7:51 AM

Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) and Hims & Hers Health, Inc. (NYSE:HIMS) have announced an agreement to make two of Lilly’s obesity treatments available through the Hims & Hers digital healthcare platform, expanding access to prescription weight management medications through online consultations and home delivery.

The partnership will allow eligible patients to obtain Zepbound (tirzepatide) and Foundayo (orforglipron) through the telehealth platform, subject to a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider.

Under the arrangement, patients paying directly for their medication will have access to prices starting at $149 per month for Foundayo and $299 per month for Zepbound.

The companies said the agreement is designed to simplify access to FDA-approved obesity medicines while maintaining independent medical decision-making.

Lilly Obesity Medicines Available Through Hims & Hers Platform

The agreement integrates access to two Lilly weight management treatments into the Hims & Hers digital healthcare service.

Eligible patients will be able to complete a medical consultation through the platform, receive a prescription when considered appropriate by a licensed healthcare provider and arrange for the medication to be delivered directly to their homes.

The process is intended to allow patients to access treatment without having to leave the Hims & Hers platform to complete the prescription and purchasing process.

Both medications will be available through a self-pay arrangement, providing an option for patients who purchase treatment directly rather than relying on insurance coverage.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of their commercial agreement.

Foundayo and Zepbound Offered at Different Monthly Prices

The partnership covers two obesity treatments with different formulations and administration methods.

Foundayo, which contains orforglipron, is an oral GLP-1 medicine taken once daily. Self-pay pricing will start at $149 per month.

Zepbound, which contains tirzepatide, is administered through a once-weekly injection and acts on both GLP-1 and GIP receptors. Its self-pay pricing will begin at $299 per month.

Both medicines are indicated for adults with obesity or those who are overweight and have weight-related medical conditions.

The treatments are intended to be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

The availability of an oral daily treatment and a weekly injectable provides patients and healthcare providers with different administration options when considering weight management therapy.

Actual treatment decisions will depend on individual medical circumstances and a provider’s clinical assessment.

Partnership Maintains Independent Prescribing Decisions

Eli Lilly and Hims & Hers emphasised that the commercial arrangement includes safeguards intended to preserve independent clinical decision-making.

Healthcare providers operating through the Hims & Hers platform will continue to assess patients individually and determine whether a particular medicine is appropriate.

The companies stated that prescribing decisions will remain based on patients’ medical needs rather than commercial considerations associated with the partnership.

This means access to Lilly’s treatments will continue to require a prescription from a licensed healthcare professional.

The agreement also addresses the use of compounded versions of GLP-1 medicines.

Hims & Hers stated that it has never offered compounded copies of Lilly’s GLP-1 medications and has committed not to provide such products in the future.

The commitment forms part of the companies’ approach to making Lilly’s FDA-approved treatments available through the digital healthcare platform.

Eli Lilly Highlights Expanded Access to FDA-Approved Treatments

Ilya Yuffa, Executive Vice President and President of Lilly USA, said the partnership would make it easier for patients using Hims & Hers to obtain approved obesity medications when prescribed.

“Millions of people rely on Hims & Hers for their healthcare, and this agreement gives those patients a simpler, more direct way to access affordable, FDA-approved Lilly medicines when they receive a prescription,” Yuffa said.

The arrangement combines Lilly’s obesity treatment portfolio with Hims & Hers’ digital healthcare services, which allow patients to consult licensed providers remotely.

By integrating consultations, prescriptions and medication delivery into a single platform, the companies aim to reduce the number of steps patients must complete when seeking treatment.

The agreement also provides Lilly with an additional distribution channel for its obesity medicines.

Telehealth Agreement Supports Expansion of Obesity Treatment Distribution

The partnership reflects the growing role of digital healthcare platforms in providing access to prescription medications.

For Eli Lilly, the arrangement creates an additional route to patients seeking treatment with Zepbound or Foundayo, complementing its existing distribution channels.

For Hims & Hers, the agreement expands the range of branded prescription medicines available through its platform and strengthens its offering in weight management services.

The inclusion of both an oral GLP-1 medicine and a weekly injectable treatment broadens the options available to eligible patients.

The self-pay pricing structure also provides greater visibility into the starting monthly costs of the two medications, although treatment suitability remains subject to medical evaluation.

Neither company disclosed expected patient volumes, revenue contributions or the duration of the agreement.

Investors Assess Implications for Digital Healthcare and Obesity Drug Markets

The agreement brings together a major pharmaceutical manufacturer and a digital healthcare provider in the expanding market for prescription obesity treatments.

Lilly will make two of its medicines available through Hims & Hers, while the telehealth company will provide the digital infrastructure for consultations, prescribing and home delivery.

The partnership could support broader patient access while allowing both companies to expand their presence in weight management services.

However, its commercial impact will depend on patient demand, prescribing decisions and adoption of the treatments through the platform.

Investors will monitor the contribution of the partnership to Lilly’s obesity medicine distribution and Hims & Hers’ prescription healthcare business as the agreement is implemented.
