First Trust Flexible Income ETF is an actively managed fund that seeks to maximize current income while pursuing long-term total return by investing across a broad, diversified portfolio of income-generating fixed income securities. The fund targets an average portfolio duration between 2 and 5 years (varying dynamically between 0 and 8 years) and spans the entire credit spectrum across multiple sectors, maturities, currencies, and global geographies, including corporate debt, bank loans, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations, and preferred securities.
