Global Diversification Is Back: JPMorgan Launches New Active International ETF

By Chandrima Sanyal | January 30, 2026, 8:42 AM

With U.S. equity dominance showing signs of fatigue and investors reassessing global exposure, J.P. Morgan Asset Management is expanding its active ETF footprint overseas with the launch of the JPMorgan International Dynamic ETF (NYSE:JIDE).

The new fund, launched on Wednesday, taps into the $2 trillion foreign large-blend category, offering actively managed exposure to developed markets outside North America, including Japan, the United Kingdom, and Western Europe. The move reflects renewed interest in international diversification as valuation gaps widen between U.S. and non-U.S. equities.

How JIDE Is Positioned

JIDE holds 118 stocks, with sector exposure skewed toward financials (24%), industrials (15.7%), and consumer discretionary (11.4%), according to J.P. Morgan.

Geographically, the portfolio is heavily tilted toward Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, which together account for 66.6% of holdings. Japan makes up 23.6%, while Asia excluding Japan represents 9.9%.

While the ETF's market-cap exposure broadly aligns with the MSCI EAFE Index, JIDE is actively managed and unconstrained by style or sector, giving portfolio managers flexibility to shift allocations based on market conditions rather than benchmark rules.

Building Beyond Covered Calls

JIDE adds to JPMorgan's growing roster of active ETFs, signaling continued expansion beyond its signature income-focused strategies.

The firm's flagship JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF (NYSE:JEPI), known for its covered-call approach, has amassed $43.03 billion in assets. JPMorgan also manages the JPMorgan International Research Enhanced Equity ETF (NYSE:JIRE) with $10 billion in assets and the JPMorgan Active Growth ETF (NYSE:JGRO), which holds $8.56 billion.

JIDE charges a 0.55% net expense ratio. J.P. Morgan Asset Management oversaw $4.2 trillion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2025.
