Redwire Corporation (NYSE:RDW) shares rose 3% on Monday after the aerospace and defense company announced plans to significantly expand its Huntsville, Alabama campus to increase production of unmanned aircraft systems and space infrastructure technologies.
The company is adding 164,000 square feet to its Huntsville operations, expanding its manufacturing and engineering capabilities to support growing demand for mission-critical aerospace and defense products. Construction is already underway, with the enlarged facility expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2027.
The project is backed by approximately $8.5 million in eligible state and local economic development incentives. As part of the expansion, Redwire expects to create around 150 new high-skilled positions across engineering, manufacturing, systems integration and technical operations.
The additional capacity will support increased production of the company’s Stalker unmanned aircraft systems, Octopus gimbal payloads, advanced energy technologies and space systems designed for exploration, commercial missions and national security applications.

Redwire announced the expansion in partnership with the State of Alabama and the City of Huntsville, highlighting the region’s growing role as a centre for aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing.
