Amphenol Corporation (NYSE:APH) reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results and issued an upbeat third-quarter outlook, driven by robust demand for AI-related data communications products and contributions from recent acquisitions. The company’s shares rose around 7% in premarket trading following the announcement.
The connector manufacturer posted adjusted earnings of $1.35 per share, comfortably ahead of Wall Street’s consensus estimate of $1.16.
Revenue increased to $8.76 billion from $5.65 billion a year earlier, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $8.19 billion. Organic sales grew 30% during the quarter, while orders reached a record $10.7 billion, resulting in a book-to-bill ratio of 1.23.
AI Infrastructure Continues to Drive Growth
Amphenol said exceptional demand for its IT datacom products continued to support strong performance as investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerated.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer R. Adam Norwitt highlighted the company’s broad-based momentum across multiple end markets, led by outstanding organic growth within its IT datacom business.
Adjusted operating margin expanded to 29.8%, supported in part by an $80 million net benefit related to the recovery of IEEPA tariffs.
Third-Quarter Guidance Exceeds Expectations
Looking ahead, Amphenol forecast adjusted third-quarter earnings of between $1.40 and $1.42 per share on revenue of $9.3 billion to $9.4 billion.
Both forecasts came in comfortably above Wall Street expectations of adjusted earnings of $1.28 per share and revenue of $8.77 billion.
The company’s guidance does not include any additional benefit from future tariff recoveries.
Acquisition Outlook Raised
Amphenol also improved its outlook for the recently acquired CommScope connectivity and cable solutions business.
The company now expects the acquisition to contribute approximately $4.6 billion in revenue during 2026 and increase adjusted diluted earnings per share by $0.30, compared with its previous forecast of $4.1 billion in revenue and $0.15 of earnings accretion.
During the quarter, Amphenol further expanded its portfolio by completing the acquisitions of El.Com and Wilder Technologies.
