Wix.com Shares Rise After Strong Second-Quarter Earnings Beat

Wix.com (NASDAQ:WIX) shares climbed 3.1% in pre-market trading after the website development platform delivered second-quarter 2026 results that comfortably exceeded market expectations.

The company reported earnings of $1.59 per share, ahead of analysts’ forecasts of approximately $1.16, while revenue reached $563.1 million, surpassing consensus estimates of around $556 million. Quarterly revenue also increased 15% compared with the same period last year.

Strong Quarter Follows Earlier Setback

The latest results marked an important turnaround for Wix after a difficult start to 2026. The company’s shares had come under pressure following first-quarter results, when higher spending on artificial intelligence initiatives pushed the business into an operating loss and disappointed investors.

The stronger second-quarter performance suggests those investments are beginning to deliver improved financial results.

Base44 Emerges as a Key Growth Driver

One of the standout features of the earnings report was the continued progress of Base44, Wix’s AI-powered no-code application development platform.

Management pointed to Base44 as a major contributor to the stronger-than-expected quarterly performance and significantly upgraded its profitability outlook for the business. Wix now expects Base44 to generate a non-GAAP gross margin of around 60% during the second half of 2026, representing a substantial improvement from the near-zero margins reported earlier this year.

The company also said it plans to reinvest savings generated through its artificial intelligence initiatives into expanding Base44’s sales and marketing activities in order to capitalise on what it described as a large and expanding market opportunity.

Company Performance Drives Share Price Higher

The pre-market rally appeared to be driven primarily by Wix’s own operational progress rather than broader strength across the technology sector, with the stock outperforming the wider tech market.

The combination of stronger-than-expected earnings, improving profitability at Base44 and management’s decision to reaffirm its full-year 2026 revenue growth guidance helped rebuild investor confidence after several challenging months.

Although the shares remain well below their 52-week high of $190.93, Tuesday’s gains suggest investors are becoming increasingly encouraged by the company’s improving outlook, even if broader sentiment remains measured.
