E-Power’s largest technology and equipment award to date expands the company beyond battery materials manufacturing into turnkey engineering, equipment and technology services.
E-Power (NASDAQ:EPOW), through indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary Shandong Sunrise Technology Co., Ltd., has entered into a RMB 343.47 million turnkey equipment and technology services contract with Shandong Fusion New Material Co., Ltd.
The approximately US$51.1 million award covers the design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning of two production lines for an advanced electronic materials project in Laiwu District, Jinan, Shandong Province.
The larger line is designed to produce 20,000 tons of artificial graphite anode material annually. A second line will have annual capacity of 1,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode material and incorporate CVD silicon-carbon deposition and high-temperature graphite carbonization processes.
The fixed-price package also includes process and equipment design, operator training and technical documentation. Shandong Sunrise was selected through a competitive procurement process completed on June 25, 2026, with the contract executed on the same day.
The strategic significance extends beyond the size of the contract. E-Power said the award represents its entry into complete anode production-line design, engineering and equipment supply, creating a potential revenue stream beyond manufacturing and selling battery materials.
That shift may broaden the company’s commercial positioning by allowing it to monetize the process expertise developed through building and operating graphite anode facilities. Rather than relying solely on its own materials production, E-Power can now apply that expertise to projects for third-party customers.
The inclusion of a silicon-carbon anode production line is also notable within the company’s strategy. E-Power describes silicon-carbon as a next-generation material for high-energy-density batteries and believes the project demonstrates its ability to provide the associated process technology at industrial scale.
The size of the award provides an important test of this expanded business model. As E-Power’s largest technology and equipment contract to date, execution may influence how investors assess the potential for technology-and-services activities to become a more meaningful part of the company’s operations.
Project execution is now the immediate focus. E-Power said work under the contract is underway and intends to provide updates as key milestones are reached.
Investors may also watch for additional third-party contracts that could indicate whether the turnkey technology-and-services model can extend beyond this initial major award. Management said it anticipates there may be further opportunities as the industry develops additional next-generation anode capacity.
