The Week Ahead: Fed Interest Rate Decision on Deck

By Emma Duncan | September 10, 2026, 1:00 PM

Next week all eyes will be on the Federal Reserve, with the September interest rate decision slated for Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. A handful of other economic reports are also due, including retail sales and pending home sales. The only notable name slated for earnings next week is Dave & Buster's (PLAY).

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.

There is nothing on the schedule for Monday, September 14.

Tuesday, September 15 will host the Empire State Manufacturing survey, while the highly anticipated Fed meeting gets underway.

Retail sales, import prices, and the NAHB housing market index will arrive on Wednesday, September 16. The main event, however, will be the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and projections, due out at 2 p.m. ET.

Thursday, September 17, will sport the usual weekly jobless claims, Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook survey, housing starts, and pending home sales.

Industrial production numbers will close out the week on Friday, September 18.
