Ainos Inc. (NASDAQ:AIMD) shares rose 6.9% in pre-market trading on Monday after the company said it received initial commercial orders for its AI Nose platform from a front-end semiconductor manufacturer.
The orders follow technical validation activities involving approximately 200 AI Nose systems deployed at wafer fabrication facilities since March. Ainos said the new orders represent a move from validation to commercial deployment in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Financial terms and the identity of the customer were not disclosed.
AI Nose Systems Move Into Commercial Deployment
Ainos’ AI Nose platform is designed to identify and digitise chemical signatures within manufacturing environments, providing chemical sensing alongside existing vision and audio monitoring technologies.
The company launched the second generation of the platform in August, incorporating changes to its software, firmware, edge AI capabilities and hardware reliability.
Ainos said the initial commercial orders are expected to provide revenue opportunities beginning in the second half of 2026.
The company is deploying the technology in both front-end wafer fabrication and back-end semiconductor packaging and testing operations.
Chemical Dataset Surpasses One Billion Records
Separately, Ainos said its proprietary real-world chemical dataset has exceeded one billion records, compared with approximately 878 million reported in August.
According to the company, the dataset is generated by AI Nose systems operating in real-world environments rather than from internet-based or simulated sources.
Each deployed AI Nose system provides sensing capabilities for customers while also generating chemical data for Ainos’ broader data infrastructure.
The company describes this approach as its Chemical Intelligence strategy, combining physical edge devices, real-world chemical data and AI-based analysis.
In semiconductor manufacturing, chemical signatures can be monitored for changes associated with process conditions, equipment performance and environmental factors.
