More than 18,000 Humana employees joined nonprofit partners across the country to improve community health, demonstrating how a single day of service can create lasting local impact.
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) today announced the results of Humana Community Day 2026, the company’s annual nationwide day of service. In its third year, Humana Community Day mobilized more than 18,000 employees across 28 states and Puerto Rico, supported 1,200 nonprofit organizations, and positively impacted 2.25 million lives and community members through volunteer projects focused on food security, neighborhood revitalization, environmental stewardship and social connection.

Held on Aug. 26, Humana Community Day brought employees together across the country, including service projects in Louisville, Kentucky; Central and South Florida; San Antonio, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and through virtual volunteerism. The day reflected Humana’s purpose of helping people achieve their best health and highlighted the critical role local nonprofit organizations play in creating healthier, stronger communities. Humana Community Day is one of many programs Humana offers employees to engage in philanthropy and volunteerism, creating meaningful opportunities to support the communities where they live and work.
“Community Day is a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together in service of something bigger than themselves,” said Tiffany Benjamin, CEO of the Humana Foundation. “Across the country, Humana teammates joined nonprofit partners and local organizations to give their time, talents, and energy in support of their neighbors. Those collective efforts help strengthen connections, support healthier lives, and create a lasting ripple effect that reaches far beyond a single day of service.”

Expanded National Reach
Rick Whitted, CEO of U.S. Hunger, said the partnership demonstrates how corporate volunteerism can create measurable impact.
“Improving community health takes more than any one organization can accomplish alone. Partnerships like the ones forged during Humana Community Day help turn compassion into action. When thousands of people come together with a shared commitment to serve, the impact reaches far beyond the meals packed that day. It strengthens communities, inspires continued engagement and helps ensure families have access to the resources they need.”
Humana Community Day is one example of Humana's year-round commitment to community health. Through employee volunteerism, philanthropic investment and nonprofit partnerships, Humana and the Humana Foundation work to strengthen local communities and address factors that influence health outside the clinical setting. The initiative reflects Humana's focus on working alongside trusted community organizations to create sustainable, long-term impact.
