CoreWeave Signs New Compute Contracts at Approximately $40 Million per Megawatt

By Fiona Craig | September 17, 2026, 8:34 AM

CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) has reported signing new computing capacity contracts at higher prices since 30 June 2026, as the company expands its commitments to customers requiring artificial intelligence infrastructure.

During the third quarter of 2026, CoreWeave entered into short-term customer agreements lasting approximately three to six months, with pricing equivalent to around $40 million per megawatt.

The company calculates this figure by dividing the annualised revenue associated with the contracts by the power required to operate the corresponding computing clusters.

The metric represents annualised revenue per megawatt rather than the total revenue expected to be recognised under each contract.

Customer Commitments Increase by More Than $25 Billion

CoreWeave also disclosed that it secured more than $25 billion in net new customer commitments early in the third quarter.

These additional commitments were not included in the company’s reported revenue backlog as of 30 June 2026.

The announcement therefore provides an update on contracting activity that occurred after the end of the second quarter.

The company did not disclose the identities of the customers associated with the new commitments or provide a detailed breakdown of the agreements.

Contracted Power Capacity Reaches 4.2 Gigawatts

CoreWeave’s total contracted power increased to approximately 4.2 gigawatts as of 11 August 2026, compared with around 3.7 gigawatts at the end of June.

The increase represents an additional 0.5 gigawatts of contracted power capacity over that period.

CoreWeave had previously disclosed the August figures during its second-quarter earnings call.

The latest announcement confirms the company’s continued contracting activity and provides additional detail on the pricing of short-term compute capacity agreements signed during the third quarter.

The extent to which these agreements contribute to future revenue will depend on their contractual terms, delivery schedules and the timing of revenue recognition.
