Canopy Growth Agrees UK Supply Deal for Four Medical Cannabis Strains

Canopy Growth Corporation (NASDAQ:CGC) has announced an agreement with GROW Group U.K. Ltd. to supply four Canadian-grown medical cannabis flower strains for distribution in the United Kingdom.

The products will be marketed under Canopy Growth’s Spectrum Therapeutics medical brand, marking the initial introduction of these portfolio products to the UK market.

GROW Group U.K. manufactures and distributes prescribed cannabis-based medicines across Europe.

Agreement Expands Canopy Growth’s European Distribution

The supply arrangement will introduce four medical cannabis flower strains grown in Canada to the UK through GROW Group U.K.’s distribution operations.

Canopy Growth said the agreement forms part of its efforts to expand its European medical cannabis business and extend the international distribution of its Canadian-grown products.

Luc Mongeau, Chief Executive Officer of Canopy Growth, commented:

“Expanding availability of our products into the UK is another step in growing our European medical cannabis business and broadening the international reach of our Canadian-grown flower.”

The company did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement or provide a specific date for the products’ commercial availability.

Ontario Facility Retains EU Manufacturing Certification

The UK supply agreement follows the renewal of European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) certification at Canopy Growth’s cultivation facility in Kincardine, Ontario.

According to the company, the certification supports its ability to supply medical cannabis products to European markets.

The renewed certification and distribution agreement form part of Canopy Growth’s international medical cannabis operations, with the UK launch extending the reach of its Spectrum Therapeutics portfolio.
