Cracker Barrel Shares Rise 10% After Q4 Earnings Beat Estimates

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (NASDAQ:CBRL) shares rose 9.98% in pre-market trading on Wednesday after the restaurant chain reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings and revenue above analyst expectations.

Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter ended July 31, 2026, were $0.99, compared with the analyst consensus estimate of $0.10.

Revenue was $849.3 million, above expectations of $828.78 million but down 2.2% from $868.0 million in the same period a year earlier.

Comparable restaurant sales decreased 2.1% year over year, while comparable retail sales increased 0.7%.

Adjusted EBITDA Includes $9.1 Million Tariff Refund Benefit

Adjusted EBITDA was $62.1 million, compared with $55.7 million in the prior-year quarter.

The latest figure included an approximately $9.1 million benefit related to tariff refunds.

“The Company is focused on the right areas and has a strong plan, as demonstrated by the continued improvements in the underlying traffic trend, key guest metrics, and EBITDA results,” President and Chief Executive Officer David Deno said.

During the quarter, Cracker Barrel completed a sale-leaseback transaction involving 26 store locations, generating approximately $77 million in net proceeds. The company used the proceeds to reduce debt.

Cracker Barrel also completed the divestiture of Maple Street Biscuit Company on July 20, 2026.

Fiscal 2027 Revenue Guidance Set at $3.325 Billion to $3.4 Billion

For fiscal 2027, Cracker Barrel expects total revenue of between $3.325 billion and $3.4 billion. The midpoint of approximately $3.36 billion is below the analyst consensus estimate of $3.39 billion.

The company is forecasting comparable restaurant sales growth of between 3% and 5% and does not plan to open any new stores during the fiscal year.

Adjusted EBITDA is expected to range from $180 million to $200 million.

Cracker Barrel’s board also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share, payable on November 12, 2026.
