Jabil Inc. (NYSE:JBL) shares fell around 4% in pre-market trading on Wednesday despite the company reporting fourth-quarter earnings and revenue above analyst expectations and issuing fiscal 2027 guidance ahead of consensus forecasts.
Adjusted earnings per share were $4.40, exceeding the consensus estimate of $4.06 by $0.34.
Revenue reached $10.6 billion, above the analyst estimate of $9.69 billion. Jabil said its performance reflected growth in AI infrastructure alongside results across several other end markets.
Fiscal 2027 Guidance Exceeds Consensus Estimates
For fiscal 2027, Jabil expects adjusted earnings of $17.55 per share, above the Wall Street consensus estimate of $16.92.
The company forecasts full-year revenue of $44.5 billion, compared with the consensus estimate of $42.93 billion.
Jabil’s fiscal 2027 outlook represents expected revenue growth of 24%. The company also forecasts a 30-basis-point increase in core operating margin to 6.1%.
Adjusted free cash flow is expected to be approximately $1.6 billion for the year.
Chief Executive Officer Mike Dastoor said the outlook reflects “accelerating AI demand complemented by solid growth in automotive, healthcare, energy infrastructure, defense and aerospace, and warehouse and retail automation.”
First-Quarter Revenue Forecast at $10.6 Billion to $11.4 Billion
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, Jabil expects adjusted earnings per share of between $3.80 and $4.20.
The midpoint of the earnings range is $4.00 per share.
First-quarter revenue is forecast at between $10.6 billion and $11.4 billion, giving a midpoint of $11.0 billion.
The first-quarter outlook follows the company’s fourth-quarter revenue of $10.6 billion and adjusted earnings of $4.40 per share.
AI Infrastructure Supports Fiscal 2026 Performance
Jabil reported full-year fiscal 2026 revenue of $36.0 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $13.09.
The company said AI infrastructure contributed to its performance, alongside activity across several other end markets.
“We delivered a fourth quarter that exceeded our expectations, closing an exceptional fiscal 2026 in which we grew revenue 21%, expanded core operating margin 40 basis points and generated more than $1.5 billion in adjusted free cash flow,” Dastoor said.
The company enters fiscal 2027 forecasting further revenue growth and operating margin expansion, with AI demand among the factors incorporated into its outlook.
Shares Decline in Pre-Market Trading
Jabil shares were down around 4% in pre-market trading following the results.
The decline came despite fourth-quarter adjusted earnings and revenue exceeding analyst estimates and the company’s fiscal 2027 adjusted EPS and revenue forecasts coming in above current consensus expectations.
Jabil also expects approximately $1.6 billion in adjusted free cash flow during fiscal 2027, compared with more than $1.5 billion generated during fiscal 2026.
