Palantir and Knox Systems Announce Partnership to Accelerate Federal Software Deployment

By Fiona Craig | October 19, 2026, 8:44 AM

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) and Knox Systems have announced a partnership aimed at reducing the time required to deploy commercial software within US federal government environments, including systems subject to FedRAMP and Impact Level 5 (IL5) security requirements.

The agreement will combine Palantir’s experience in deploying software through accredited government infrastructure with Knox Systems’ managed federal cloud services.

According to a press release issued by Palantir, the partnership is intended to provide commercial software developers with a more integrated route to obtaining government authorisation and deploying applications within federal environments.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Partnership Focuses on Federal Security Requirements

The collaboration is designed to address the regulatory and technical requirements faced by commercial software providers seeking to supply US government agencies.

Federal deployments frequently require compliance with security standards and authorisation procedures that differ from those used in commercial computing environments.

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) establishes a standardised framework for assessing and authorising the security of cloud products and services used by federal agencies.

Impact Level 5, or IL5, refers to a US Department of Defense cloud security classification used for certain categories of sensitive information and workloads.

Palantir and Knox intend to combine their respective infrastructure and deployment capabilities to support software companies navigating these requirements.

The partnership is expected to provide a coordinated approach to software authorisation, hosting and deployment, although the companies did not disclose specific implementation schedules.

Knox Systems Targets FedRAMP Authorisation Within 90 Days

Knox Systems provides managed cloud infrastructure designed for software companies operating in federal government environments.

The company states that its services can support FedRAMP authorisation in 90 days or less.

This timeframe represents a company claim rather than a guarantee that every application will receive authorisation within that period.

The actual process may depend on the software involved, the applicable security requirements and the relevant government approval procedures.

Knox describes its infrastructure as one of the largest managed federal cloud environments.

According to the company, its services currently support more than 100 artificial intelligence and enterprise software applications operating within federal environments.

Its customers include Adobe, Sierra and Armis.

These existing deployments form part of the infrastructure and customer experience Knox will contribute to the partnership with Palantir.

Palantir Contributes Government Deployment Experience

Palantir has previously supported commercial software companies seeking to deploy applications to US federal agencies through its accredited infrastructure.

The company’s work with government customers includes software platforms used for data integration, analytics and operational applications.

Under the newly announced arrangement, Palantir’s government deployment experience will be combined with Knox’s managed cloud capabilities.

The companies intend to provide software vendors with access to infrastructure and services designed to meet federal security requirements.

Kevin Kawasaki, Palantir’s Global Head of Business Development, said the agreement would support broader deployment of commercial technologies.

“The mission can’t wait for technology to catch up,” Kawasaki said. “We are proud to work with Knox to deliver against the next wave of this effort, and scale the impact of this work more broadly.”

The statement reflects Palantir’s objective of extending its existing government software deployment activities through the collaboration.

Knox Highlights Software Delivery and Security

Knox Systems Chief Executive Officer Irina Denisenko said the company’s business focuses on accelerating software delivery to government customers while maintaining security after deployment.

“We’re honored to work with Palantir on this delivery,” Denisenko said.

The partnership is intended to address both the initial deployment process and the ongoing infrastructure requirements associated with operating software in federal environments.

For commercial software providers, these requirements can involve security assessments, access controls, monitoring and compliance procedures.

By combining their capabilities, Palantir and Knox aim to reduce the number of separate processes vendors must manage when preparing applications for government use.

However, the announcement did not specify how many additional software vendors are expected to use the combined services or identify any new federal contracts resulting from the agreement.

Financial Impact and Deployment Timetable Not Disclosed

The companies did not provide financial details about the partnership, including expected revenue, investment commitments or the allocation of commercial responsibilities.

No specific deployment timetable was announced for the combined offering.

The agreement therefore represents a strategic collaboration rather than a disclosed contract with a stated financial value.

Its commercial impact will depend on software vendor adoption, government authorisation requirements and the companies’ ability to deliver the proposed services.

The partnership also does not remove the need for applicable federal security assessments or approvals.

Companies Seek to Expand Access to Federal Software Markets

The Palantir-Knox partnership reflects efforts to simplify the process through which commercial software providers make their products available to US government agencies.

Knox contributes managed federal cloud infrastructure and experience supporting more than 100 AI and enterprise applications, while Palantir brings its existing government software deployment capabilities.

The companies expect the combination to support software vendors seeking access to federal environments with specific security and compliance requirements.

Further information about customer adoption, implementation milestones and financial contributions will be needed to assess the commercial results of the collaboration.
