Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) launched its desktop trading platform in the UK on May 28. This move extends the company’s advanced trading tools to 11 million traders in the country, and comes months after Robinhood Legend was unveiled for American users in October 2024.

According to the company, the desktop platform addresses growing demand from retail investors who view trading as a wealth-building strategy rather than a hobby. Unlike web-based and mobile platforms, desktop platforms allow users to monitor multiple charts simultaneously and execute trades faster, the company said.
Jordan Sinclair, head of Robinhood UK, stated that “retail customers are a lot more engaged in the market, a lot more thoughtful about what they’re invested in, more interested in the news and movements and passionate about the names they hold.” He noted that many traders recognize trading offers a more efficient path to financial goals than traditional low-interest savings accounts.
The UK launch is part of Robinhood’s broader strategy to expand beyond its core trading business. The company launched wealth management and private banking services in March, aiming to become a more comprehensive financial services provider for customers.
Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ:HOOD) is a financial technology company. It provides commission-free trading of stocks, ETFs, options, futures, and cryptocurrencies. The company also offers wealth management, credit cards, banking services, and a news platform.
