VF Corporation (VFC) has seen heavy selling this year, largely due to a superficial focus on revenue and EPS headlines rather than the details of its turnaround plan. Vans, its most scrutinized brand, reported revenue declines last quarter, but management explained on the earnings call that much of the drop was intentional. The company strategically closed unprofitable and discount-heavy stores, a move accounting for roughly 60% of the decline, which improved margins—exactly the desired outcome in a turnaround.

The remaining 40% of the year-over-year revenue decline stemmed from weaker direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, but leading indicators suggest an imminent recovery. Publicly available data tracking transactional website activity, which reflects intent-to-buy searches like “buy Vans shoes,” showed over 100% growth in each month of the current quarter compared to the prior year. This surge points to effective marketing campaigns that are expected to drive DTC sales higher in the upcoming results.

From a technical perspective, VFC recently broke out of a persistent downtrend, adding to the bullish setup. Insider confidence further supports the investment case, with management purchasing several million dollars’ worth of stock in late May around the $12 level. Taken together, the combination of margin-enhancing store rationalization, improving DTC demand, and clear insider conviction creates a favorable risk/reward skew.

As the turnaround progresses and fundamental momentum aligns with technical strength, the current depressed valuation may significantly underestimate the company’s recovery potential, offering investors an attractive entry point with material upside.

Previously we covered a bullish thesis on V.F. Corporation (VFC) by Fun-Imagination-2488 in April 2025, which highlighted Bracken Darrell’s turnaround plan, operational streamlining, and debt reduction. The company’s stock has appreciated about 8% since then as early turnaround progress took hold. The thesis still stands as brand momentum builds. Stevieboydaprince shares a similar but emphasizes intentional store cuts and insider buying.
