Dow Keeps Rolling, Eyes Record Highs

Rate cut optimism is trying to prop Wall Street higher for another day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) is up more than 330 points at last check, and just shy of record highs. Both the S&P 500 Index (SPX) and Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) have scored fresh record peaks already, but are now off their session highs. Elsewhere, the small-cap Russell 3000 Index (RUT) has crossed 2,300 for the first time since late February.

CoreWeave Inc (NASDAQ:CRWV) stock is popular in the options pits, with a bearish angle. At last glance, 186,000 puts have exchanged hands, volume that's quadruple the average intraday amount. New positions are being bought to open at the August 120 put, while the October 70 put is also popular. CRWV is down 18.9% to trade at $120.60, after the artificial intelligence (AI) cloud company reported wider-than-expected second-quarter losses that are overshadowing its revenue beat. The stock is nursing a 26.8% quarter-to-date deficit.

Paramount Skydance Corp (NASDAQ:PSKY) is one of the best stocks on the Nasdaq today, last seen 25.2% higher to trade at $13.73. The shares added 8.4% yesterday after the media company -- newly merged between Skydance Media and Paramount Global -- reached a $7.7 billion deal to stream UFC fights. PSKY is now 29,3% higher in 2025. 

Kroger Co (NYSE:KR) stock is near the bottom of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today, down 4.2% to trade at $70.50 at last check. The grocery chain is in the red after Amazon.com (AMZN) announced it was adding perishable goods to its same-day delivery. Year to date, KR is still 15.1% higher, with chart support for today's pullback coming at its 100-day moving average.
