On September 15, 2025, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that it plans to invest $30 billion over four years to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure and operations across the U.K. Under this investment, the company will inject $15 billion in capital expenditures to build the country’s largest supercomputer, which will house more than 23,000 advanced GPUs with partner Nscale. It will also invest another $15 billion for operations supporting its 6,000-employee U.K. workforce.

Within the announcement, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) highlighted surging AI demand from major U.K. customers, such as Barclays, Vodafone, the NHS, and the London Stock Exchange Group. These customers are already deploying Microsoft Copilot to tens of thousands of employees.
