OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Alejandro "Alex" Vallejo has been named Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer of PG&E Corporation and its subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (together, "PG&E"), effective Sept. 30. Vallejo has been a leader at PG&E for the past 15 years.
Vallejo will lead PG&E's People organization, responsible for attracting and retaining the best workforce and fostering the right culture in building a safe, resilient energy system that meets customers' needs. This includes talent acquisition, labor relations, coworker development and change management.
"Alex has been one of the most empathetic and trustworthy leaders I've had the pleasure of working with. He understands and models the culture we are working to build at PG&E—focused on safety, leading with love and causing joy for our coworkers and customers. I look forward to his leadership in developing our team to bring this culture to life every day," said PG&E Corporation CEO Patti Poppe.
Vallejo succeeds Kaled Awada, who announced his departure from PG&E earlier this month to pursue new opportunities. Before this role, Vallejo served as PG&E's Chief Risk Officer and Senior Vice President, Ethics & Compliance. He oversaw enterprise risk assessment and mitigation related to operations, public safety and other areas. He also oversaw PG&E's Ethics and Compliance function, as well as its enterprise Privacy, Federal Compliance, and Records and Information Governance programs. Vallejo has held other leadership roles on the legal and customer teams as well.
"In my 15 years at PG&E, I have come to know, love and deeply admire my coworkers, from our hometown service centers to our Oakland headquarters. I'm honored to continue fostering our culture, where it is enjoyable to work with and for PG&E and where we're delivering for our customers to meet the dynamic and critical energy needs of California," Vallejo said.
Before PG&E, Vallejo was a litigator at the international law firm of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP, where he focused on complex commercial cases and regulatory matters. Vallejo earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and bachelor's degree from the University of California, Riverside.
