Why This Matters For Tesla
For now, the tariff is a protective moat for Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA).
BYD sells cheaper, feature-rich cars at scale — exactly the kind of competitor that could shred Tesla's mass-market pricing power.
If the ban holds, Tesla CEO Elon Musk keeps breathing room in the U.S. If it weakens, Musk faces a price war from a rival that can make EVs faster and cheaper than almost anyone.
